Thank you for your interest in Coastal Winds Publishing House. We publish children's picture books, fiction/non-fiction, christian mystery and stories of miracles, instructionals, hobbies, and cookbooks. We foster christian standards in our selection process of manuscripts, and not all manuscripts will be accepted due to either content, or genre, and whatever else may be determined for non-publishing an author's manuscript.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES 
Manuscripts:
We accept unsolicited manuscripts and manuscripts from authors without agents. When submitting your manuscript and/or illustrations , please follow these guidelines when preparing your submission:
1. Your manuscript must be typed and double-spaced and one-inch margins. Handwritten and single-spaced manuscripts are difficult to read and may result on our returning the submission to you without proper consideration.
2. Include a cover letter that contains your current address, phone number, book title (include ISBN-10 or 13 digit) and a brief description of your manuscript of 125 words or less. Often cover letters become separated from manuscripts, so please be sure to include your name, address, and phone number on the first page of your story as well.
3. All submissions must be accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) for our reply. If you wish to have your manuscript returned by mail (only if submitted by mail) please send a return stamped envelope.
4. Picture books should always be submitted in their entirety. Novels should be submitted as 3 sample chapters and a synopsis. Do not send in more than 125 pages. If we like your manuscript, we will send a request to see the rest of the manuscript.
5. Do not, under any circumstances, send original art. While we make every effort to take scrupulous care of materials in our possession, Coastal Winds Publishing House cannot be held responsible for their loss or damage. However, we will be happy to review color copies, prints, or photographs of your artwork and will return the samples upon request as long as they are accompanied by an S.A.S.E.
6. If you are submitting a picture book manuscript, you should be aware that it is not necessary for you to supply illustrations, but if you do illustrations or have an illustrator, please submit a copy only for our review, not the original.
7. Although we accept simultaneous submissions, we would like you to let us know if you've sent your manuscripts to other publishers. If another publisher makes an offer while the manuscript is still being reviewed by Coastal Winds Publishing House, we ask that you inform us immediately so that your work will no longer be under consideration. Additionally, we prefer that you do not send more that one submission at a time.
8. Please allow up to 4 weeks for our reply. If you do not hear from us and wish to look into the status of your manuscript, please do not send in a query letter.
Illustrations:
1. You are welcome to mail any samples you would like us to review or keep on file. Good quality photocopies are fine. You may send a dummy book if you wish to showcase your ability to create a picture book.
2. Do not send original art.
3. If your work includes the ability to illustrate various types of people, landscapes, objects, or if you work in various media or styles, please include a mix of these capabilities. If you are interested in illustrating for Coastal Winds Publishing House, we will consider your work, please provide a separate letter or email requesting to be added as an illustrator for our authors.
4. Be sure to place your name, address, and phone number on each sample. Also include a self-addressed, stamped envelope (in the appropriate size) if you request returns.
Please do not feel discouraged if you receive a letter or email from us declining your submission for manuscripts and/or illustrations. Keep trying and we do wish you the best with your publishing efforts.
